Literacy in Indonesia

        Literacy is a person's ability to process and understand information when carrying out the process of reading and writing. Literacy skills also affect the critical abilities of the Indonesian people. Therefore, the reading interest of the Indonesian people, which is very low, must be increased.

        At present there are many Indonesian people who have less understanding due to a lack of interest in reading, because knowledge itself is very important for our own needs.

        The case problem that is often rife in Indonesia is hoaxes. This happened due to a lack of understanding in reading and was immediately disseminated so that it became a topic of public discussion. One of the most visible reasons is feeling lazy to just read.

       There are 2 factors that cause low literacy levels in Indonesia, namely reading material that is less interesting and in-depth and the second is practice. so besides reading it must also be supported by good and correct literacy practices.

        Meanwhile, books are a source of knowledge, such as the motto "book is the window of knowledge" and "read books, open the world". By reading books, we will gain knowledge. Therefore, reading can improve life.

        For this reason, efforts to increase interest in reading need further support. It is time for the community to develop an interest in literacy from an early age so that people's living standards can improve.
